Bringing Jeepers Together

Welcome to! For those of you who have been following for a while now, you may already know who I am. For those of you who aren’t familiar, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Erin. (Yes, I am a woman.) I’ve lived in Southern California my entire life, but was only introduced to Jeeps in March of 2013.

Jeeps of SoCal was founded in 2014, almost by accident. I saw someone at a local brewery host an FJ Cruiser meet. The turn out was about 10 vehicles, and I jokingly said to a friend, “I could do better than that…” Six weeks later, I did. With no following online, I put together a small flyer inviting fellow SoCal Jeepers to Valiant Brewing in Orange, CA. I have a huge love of the Internet and all things social media, so I started spreading the word. I thought, if I could get even 20 people to show up, I’ll consider it a success. To my surprise, more than 50 Jeeps filled the parking lot that June afternoon.

(More photos can be found here.)

I had an incredible time bringing people together and meeting new Jeepers in the area. Not long after, I decided to slap a name on this thing and see if I couldn’t bring more people together. Now, we have a group of over 10,000 followers on social media, and the meet and greets attract up to 100 Jeeps.

In the 2 years (and 2 months) that Jeeps of SoCal has existed we’ve hosted a handful of meet and greets and a few small off-road gatherings. I have a blast bringing people together and watching this community grow, and I hope it continues well into the future.

To the veterans of Jeeps of SoCal, thank you for all your love and support. If you’re (somewhat) new here, welcome! I’m so glad you’ve decided to stop by. Keep an eye out for bigger and better things in the upcoming years.
